What is Datarium?
Datarium is an independent consultancy that helps mining and exploration teams bring structure, clarity, and trust to their geoscientific data.
We support clients throughout their data lifecycle, from collation and cleansing of legacy files to complex data migrations, workflow optimisation, and system configuration. We also provide hands-on, day-to-day assistance with database administration, data loading, and general support where internal resources are limited.
The name Datarium reflects our belief in building structured, transparent data ecosystems — the opposite of a black box. We help make your data and processes visible, traceable, and easy to understand, so you can see the full picture and make confident decisions based on what’s really happening.
About The Founder
James Greig
Founder and Consultant
James is a geoscientific data professional with nearly two decades of experience in implementation, support, and product development for mining data systems used across the globe.
His experience includes on-site system rollouts, complex data migrations, workflow configuration, data validation and loading, and dashboard development — spanning a wide range of commodities and mining stages, from exploration through to production.
In his previous role as a Product Owner at acQuire Technology Solutions, James played a key role in shaping the GIM Suite in close collaboration with customers, drawing on his strong technical background and deep experience working directly with a wide range of geoscience and technical teams to solve complex industry data challenges.
Through Datarium, James now helps geoscience teams across exploration and mining build transparent, trustworthy data ecosystems, where workflows are visible, data is auditable, and decisions are backed by clarity and trusted data.
His work spans data strategy and planning, data collation and migrations, workflow optimisation, reporting, and ongoing support and mentoring — helping teams improve data quality, identify inefficiencies, streamline processes, and make better decisions with greater clarity and confidence.
